PMA450B Audio Panel
PMA-450B AUDIO PANEL
The PS Engineering PMA450B — More Bluetooth, Smarter Audio, Built for How You Actually Fly
The PMA450B is PS Engineering's flagship audio panel for pilots who want the most connectivity and the clearest cockpit audio available in a standard-format panel. Two independent Bluetooth® modules. USAF-licensed dimensional sound. A 6-place voice-activated intercom. Built-in audio alerts and recording. All in a TSO-certified unit that drops straight into a Garmin GMA340 tray without touching a wire.
Premier Aviation Tucson is an authorized PS Engineering dealer and installs the PMA450B at our facility inside Tucson International Airport. Call 888-960-4288 to get pricing and schedule your installation.
What the PMA450B Does That Other Panels Don't
Two Independent Bluetooth® Modules
The PMA450B carries two completely independent Bluetooth® radios — the most of any audio panel on the market. One can handle your tablet (ForeFlight alerts, traffic audio, music). The other manages your phone (calls to ATC for IFR clearances, or a camera for flight recording). Both connected at the same time, without conflict. Phone functions — caller ID, volume, answer, hang-up — are all controlled from the front panel.
IntelliAudio® Dimensional Sound
Built on U.S. Air Force-patented "Multi-Talker" technology originally developed for fighter pilots, IntelliAudio® spatially positions Com 1 and Com 2 audio in your headset so your brain hears them as coming from different locations — not as one blended stream. Busy patterns, approach frequencies, and multi-facility operations become significantly easier to manage. Requires stereo headsets in stereo mode.
flightmate® — Your Voice, Your Alerts
flightmate® is standard on every PMA450B. It lets you record custom spoken audio alerts in your own voice, triggered by discrete inputs from avionics or engine instruments. It also runs as a continuous loop recorder capturing primary radio audio. Build your own audio checklists. Hear exactly what condition is occurring when a sensor trips — not a generic tone.
IntelliVox® 6-Place Intercom
A six-station, voice-activated intercom with PS Engineering's patented IntelliVox® squelch — no manual adjustment needed. Pilot Isolate, All, and Crew modes. Two independent stereo music inputs with SoftMute™ that ducks music automatically when radio or intercom audio is active.
3-Softkey Interface + OLED Display
The OLED display reads clearly from wide angles in both direct sunlight and dim cockpit lighting. The three-softkey layout puts all features within reach without diving into menus. PS Engineering designed this interface to be self-evident — most pilots find they never need to open the manual.
USB-C — 15 Watts
The front-panel USB-C port delivers 15 watts with short-circuit protection. Enough to charge an iPad at full brightness during flight without a separate power solution.
Fail-Safe Mode
If power is lost for any reason, the PMA450B automatically connects the pilot headset directly to Com 1. No configuration. No action required from the pilot. You stay on the radio regardless of what happens to the panel.
GMA340 Owners: This Is a Direct Swap
The PMA450B is plug-and-play compatible with the Garmin GMA340's existing wiring harness and panel tray. Remove the GMA340. Install the PMA450B. Make a logbook entry. That's the upgrade — no rewiring, no new tray, significantly reduced labor time. If you've been flying a GMA340 and wondering what a modern audio panel actually changes in day-to-day flying, the PMA450B is the most straightforward answer available.
Note: Implementing the flightmate® alert system when upgrading from a GMA340, GMA345, or PMA8000 series panel requires additional wiring for the discrete inputs. Our team handles this as part of the installation.
Sold and Installed at Premier Aviation Tucson
We are an authorized PS Engineering dealer. PS Engineering requires that wiring harnesses be made or installed by an authorized dealer for the factory warranty to remain valid — buying and installing through Premier Aviation Tucson keeps your warranty intact from day one.
Every PMA450B installation at our shop includes a detailed upfront estimate, proper harness fabrication, intercom gain calibration, and a complete post-installation checkout before the aircraft leaves our hangar. How the PMA450B Fits the PS Engineering Lineup
The PMA450B sits in the middle of the PS Engineering audio panel family — above the PMA450A in Bluetooth capability, below the PMA450C in the latest-generation feature set. If you're deciding between models, here's the short version:
- PMA450A — Single Bluetooth module, IntelliAudio®, OLED display. Strong panel, fewer simultaneous connections. See the PMA450A.
- PMA450B — Dual independent Bluetooth® modules, PS Streamer™, full phone control from the panel. The upgrade choice for pilots with active tablet and phone integration. You're here.
- PMA450C — The newest generation in the 450 family with additional refinements. See the PMA450C.
- PMA8000G — Larger-format panel for more complex avionics installations. See the PMA8000G.
Not sure which panel fits your aircraft and avionics stack? Call us and we'll help you think it through — no pressure, no upselling you past what your setup actually needs.
